How the All-On-4 Procedure Works

After your healing process is finished, we will create your final teeth with zirconia, a strong and stain-resistant material that provides a more natural look than the acrylic denture teeth commonly used. Zirconia improves aesthetics, hygiene, and longevity, making it a superior option to traditional acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges.
Initially, any remaining teeth are extracted. Then, 4 to 6 implants are strategically positioned per arch to avoid sinus cavities, eliminating the necessity for invasive bone grafts and decreasing recovery time. Lastly, a low-profile bridge is affixed to the implants, ensuring a secure and functional smile right away.

      All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

      The process usually takes 4 to 6 hours, depending on whether one or both arches are being treated. Temporary bridges will be attached to the new implants after the procedure and worn for about 4 months to allow for proper healing and integration with the bone. This healing period is crucial for ensuring the best fit for your final bridges. Once healing is complete, the fabrication of your permanent bridges will begin. This process will involve several appointments over 5 to 6 weeks to design and customize your ideal smile.

      Mouth Impressions

      The impressions taken in the lab are used to create your temporary implant bridge(s). If you are missing multiple teeth in the area, your dentist may recommend a wax try-in to assess your bite, appearance, and comfort before finalizing the temporary bridge.

      Procedure

      The procedure includes tooth extraction (if needed), implant placement, and interim implant bridge fitting. On average, this process lasts between 4 and 7 hours.

      Post Op #1

      Please make sure to keep a close eye on your healing progress following the procedure and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

      Post Op #2

      During your follow-up appointment approximately three weeks after the procedure, your sutures will be taken out and your healing will be assessed. Most patients are typically given the green light to start using a water flosser or WaterPik for improved oral hygiene at this stage.

      Impressions for final teeth

      These are typically taken around four months after the procedure.

      Try in

      Once the impressions have been taken, you will receive a wax mock-up of your final teeth within 5 to 10 days. Additional wax try-ins may be required for your satisfaction. Please make any necessary adjustments during this stage, as changes cannot be made once the final bridges are produced. Any modifications requested after approval and fabrication will result in a full-cost remake.

      Seat final teeth

      Once the wax try-in(s) are approved, it typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to create and place your permanent bridge or bridges.
