How the All-On-4 Procedure Works

After your healing process is finished, we will create your final teeth with zirconia, a strong and stain-resistant material that provides a more natural look than the acrylic denture teeth commonly used. Zirconia improves aesthetics, cleanliness, and durability, making it a better option than traditional acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges.
Initially, all existing teeth are extracted. Then, 4 to 6 implants are strategically inserted in each arch to prevent sinus cavities, eliminating the necessity for extensive bone grafts and decreasing recovery time. Lastly, a discreet bridge is affixed to the implants, ensuring a stable and functional smile right away.

      All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

      The process usually takes between 4 to 6 hours, depending on whether treatment is being done on one or both arches. Temporary bridges will be placed on the new implants right after the procedure and worn for about 4 months to help with proper healing and fusion with the bone. This healing period is crucial for ensuring the best fit for your final bridges. Once the healing is complete, the production of your permanent bridges will begin. This will involve several appointments spread out over 5 to 6 weeks to design and customize your desired smile.

      Mouth Impressions

      The impressions taken in the lab are used to create your temporary implant bridge(s). If you are missing multiple teeth in the same area, your dentist may recommend a wax try-in to assess your bite, appearance, and comfort before finalizing the temporary bridge.

      Procedure

      The procedure includes tooth extraction (if needed), implant placement, and fitting the temporary implant bridge. On average, this process takes 4 to 7 hours to finish.

      Post Op #1

      Please make sure to closely monitor your healing progress after the procedure and feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

      Post Op #2

      During your follow-up appointment approximately three weeks after the procedure, your sutures will be taken out and your healing will be assessed. At this time, most patients are typically given the green light to start using a water flosser or WaterPik for improved oral hygiene.

      Impressions for final teeth

      Typically, these are taken approximately four months after the procedure.

      Try in

      You will receive a wax mock-up of your final teeth within 5 to 10 days after impressions are taken. Additional try-ins may be needed for adjustments. Make changes before final bridges are made to avoid full-cost remake.

      Seat final teeth

      Once the wax try-in(s) are approved, it typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to create and install your permanent bridge or bridges.
